Ah… we toil away at the job, counting the days until we can go home.
It’s 1 am, and since we need to catch a bus to the airport at 5:20, we’ve decided to just stay up, clean the apartment, and pack our bags for the four day China-extravaganza.
I want to wear my fedora and leather jacket and pretend I’m Indiana Jones as we trek the Great Wall, but the heat, rainy weather, and embarrassed wife kinda nix that idea. Maybe I could find Thea the Marion Ravenwood outfit.
There was a kerfuffle at work this week in that management posted a notice telling us to not ask for reference letters, they would be provided to qualified recipients upon completion of their contract. Some people <cough> made a stink and Mrs. Manager was baffled as to why anyone would take offense: “If you’re a good teacher, you have nothing to worry about.” Of course, since criticism is the preferred method of communication here in glorious Korea it’s difficult to discern if one is considered a good teacher. Oh well.
I sound snarky. Well, I feel a little snarky.
One thing I’m looking forward to about China is adventuring with my wife. When I went to Scotland or Turkey without her, I kept thinking about how I wanted her to see the things I was seeing with me. Hopefully she wears comfortable shoes so we don’t have the zoo fiasco again.
How much more time until you’re back on Canadian soil?
was it good times?
