The Craptastics

My wife and I are coordinating our church’s summer retreat, and things aren’t going as smoothly as I had anticipated.  Somehow I thought it would be easier.  We have a solid group of friends that we meet with every Thursday night for House Church.  Going into the retreat planning, I thought there would be a multitude of resources to exploit.  Turns out almost no one is planning on going.  I can’t hold it against them, but it is disappointing.  And now I’m having visions of people complaining about how terrible our retreat is… just like I’ve complained at the variety of retreats I’ve attended over the years. Ah… sweet Karma.

I’m loving the hot weather.  Except driving home in a thunderstorm.  Oh… and the air-conditioner in the car doesn’t work.  So the drive to and from work in my work clothes is uncomfortable.  But I missed the Canadian summer last year, so it’s nice to be home.
